NA,
Hi all,
I have a 50-trim on my 90 talon running 22psi and it's really laggy between shifts. The car starts fine when I get on it from a rolling start (eg. racing) but I lose a lot between shifts! Timing is almost stock. Is there anything I can do with my timing/fuel to make it better? Thanks.

With a 50 trim, chances are your not gonna improve lag between shifts. The only thing that could help a little bit on lag would be the option to use Nitrous. It's just to big a turbo to be worrying about turbo lag.

Learn to shift faster. If you were a 2G you could use the anti-lag feature in DSMlink but I don't know of anyone that makes such a thing for 1G's.

The DSMlink for the 1g will be out very soon :thumb:

Get a eprom ecu and have a no lift to shift option....a friend of mine has one set at 5500 and he has NO lag between shifts on his 50 trim. One thing to add though is that he has a built trans, not sure how if your trans is in shape to be slamming the 1-2 shift with your foot to the floor =)

Shifting without lifting really isn't that hard on the transmission, as long as you have a clutchcut.

I do it all the freaking time, just because it's fun. :D

Clutch cut, stutter shift, no lift shift, etc, its all the same thing with different names ;) My turbo lags so much that keeping the gas pedal floored on shifts dropped my ET from 12.0 to 11.3. Doing it on the 3-4 only raised mph by 3. The laggier the turbo is, the bigger the advantage of this technique.

Edit for clarification: I meant doing it on the 3-4 shift only, not that it raised it "only" 3 mph. 3 mph is a significant increase.

Hell yes. :D I was sold on this when I got DSMLink for my 2g, and now that I've started modifying the ECU in our 1g, this was something I had to have. It makes the car a heckuva lot more fun to drive. Search around for "no-lift-to-shift", "anti-lag", and "clutch wire mod" for details on what this does, then go hit up http://www.dsmchips.com/ and get what you need from keydiver. :thumb:

dont lift when u shift. keep it spoolin' :thumb:

When I was at the track for my first time I was able to cut down half a second by not letting completely off the gas. I would let up a little bit just so the revs wouldnt go to redline then I would shift.
It would be very beneficial for you since you have a 50trim but I only had a 14b at the time.
