Larger turbo with good street behavior

I've got an EVO3 16G on my spyder but I'm going to get a AWD TSI for a second car now. I'm interested in making more power on the TSI because of the AWD platform. I just wanted some personal favorites for a larger turbo that can make some good power on pump gas and maintain good street behavior with the right supporting mods. The PTE 50 trim combos look like a good choice for the price but I haven't heard a lot of feedback on them. Thanks for some ideas.

Wifey's running a GT3040 on a stock cubes, 8:1 compression built motor AWD car and it's plenty streetable. Boost is coming on hard by 4000-4500 RPM's.

if i could suggest, the AGP RS52 or RS60, both are priced resonably, and they are bolt on. both are good for well over 400whp with proper tuning/supporting mods, great for pump gas also... just my 02 cents...good luck with whatever you end up getting

There are SO many turbo choices out there, you really need to be much more specific.

The EvoIII 16g is capable of making 350 whp on pump gas, so you must want more than that. How much are you looking for, 400? 450? What is your budget? Are you willing to buy a kit (turbo, manifold, etc), or do you just want a bolt-on turbo?

Give us some more information.

I'd like a number around 400whp. If I had to throw out a 1/4 number, I'd say around a 12.0 but I know some jackass is going to come on and say, "people have gone 12s on the 14B, all you need is a 16G for those times!"
The kit part is up in the air at this point. If it means spending an additional 1500 in order to get a manifold, O2 housing and external gate on top of 1500 for a turbo it's not really worth it to me. It seems reasonalble (for me) to shoot for a $1000-$1200 for the turbo itself.

Thanks for the input guys

Which one? There's probably 100 different "50 trims"?

Damn, now I'm more envious of the fact that you have 94 pump than your turbo Could you give me a link to who sells that turbo? Thanks for your replies

I would look up MUTT before purchasing an ETE-32.

paul s - what kind of VAC do you get at idle with that? Also, do you mind PMing me some of your data-logs and advice on how to tune. Is your MAS stock or do you have honey combs removed? And what did it take (psi, octane) to get an 11.9?

I know it's a little expensive but Forced Performance turbos are great. I have an FP3052 and I love it. As far as streetable is concerned, I raced a friend that has a big 16g and he could only pull a little in first. By the time I hit second, I was already at least a car lenght ahead of him and just kept pulling. Neither of us launched either so it was off idle. My turbo hits full boost at 4500 but starts at 2500rpms. The external wastegate is cool too.

Oh my god, 4500 RPM on a 3052? I think you have a leak somewhere. Van on the "other" boards is hitting full spool on a 3065 on a stock bottom end 1G at 4500. DSM on this boards has a 3052 and sees boost at 3100-3200 and full spool at 3700-3900. God I want a 3052......................

Still 4500 RPM? I was all about the 3052 and if a standard bearing "50 trim" can hit full song on a 2.0 before 4k a BB one should certainly do it. I am very much considering a 3052 when I upgrade but I'm not waiting until 4500 for boost, not with a 52 lb/min turbo.

if you're going to get such a prestigious turbo as the fp3065, you must stroke your bitch, so the turbo quality matches the engine , plus full boost can be made at 3500 with that kind of setup.
