I am looking for a Turbo timer... is there any TT out there with a boost guage other than the Blitz DTTDCII? Who is running what, and what have people found to be 1) the best Value... and 2) the TOP of the line

1. I don't think so
2. All TT's to the same thing. There is no Top of the line really. It's all about your persoanl preference as to what size you want and how much you want to spend.

As John said "they all do the same thing" that is to keep your car running for a specific amount of time. One TT can't outperform another in doing that. Plus they don't mix too well with aftermarket alarm systems

I already run full synthetic oil... are you saying I don't need to worry about coaking with a full synthetic? or should I still invest in a TT?

As previuosly stated, there isn't any difference in the way any given TT will cool down your car.. The extra functions and/or compatibility issues are to be factored in prior to purchase.

By this I mean that in my business, I've come accross almost every brand of TT on the market today, and I have had only good luck with the older GReddys. -The "Japaneese Use Only" wire (-per GReddy's tech web site, the grey wire) is actually a negative triggered output from the TT. -when in TT mode. -This added to outboard relay(s) can give extra added function(s) to help integrate with aftermarket alarm systems and cooling fan turn, while in TT mode.

I have attempted to construct similar circuits with HK$, Blitz, and Apex TT's. -All with no luck. -The HKS almost worked properly, but got confused (still counted down) when the user remote started the vehicle via the alarm system that I was installing at the time.

Basically Alarm, Remote start, and Greddy TT all are fully functiuonal and have no problems in my 1G.

hmmmm.... my Python alarm works perfectly fine with my Greddy TT...
you just have to know how to wire it:p and it isn't that hard either, only have to mess with one wire

Since we're talking about turbo timers, I was just wondering if there is a bracket or something similar to mount it or hold it, I planned on putting it right under my steering wheel. Please let me know if anyone has any info or what people have been using to mount theirs in a similar location. Thanks.

Hey RamenPride,
Could you tell me how to wire that one wire to my Python alarm? Now that I have an aftermarket alarm I have to wait by the car for it to turn off before I can set the alarm. Basically what I was trying to avoid by installing a turbo timer. Thanks!

Instead of hooking the power wire to the switched 12V, hook it up to one of the accessory wires (blue, blue with white stripe). That way, when you turn off the car and remove the key, there's no power going through that wire. The alarm thinks the car isn't running anymore, and will arm and stay armed until the timer counts down and shuts the car off.

Hey RamenPride...

Just for your info, this setup will work for the TT integration, however, if the alarm system has an installed started interrupt relay (most DECENT alarm systems incorperate this feature), this setup will not allow this feature to work properly... The alarm system "needs" a 12v TRUE Ignition (12v while cranking the starter) in order for the starter-kill to function.
Higher-end alarm systems (like a Clifford) also incorperate a starter kill, Ignition kill and optional FP Immobilizer.
If you just have a car alarm (just something that makes noise, with no immobilizing properties) then the wiring that you described will work fine, provided that someone hasn't already stollen your car
:D
