Replaced Turbo (14B) because I blew the old one. Had no boost! I got tired of, every Turbo DSM I have ever owned, tryin to find vacuuum leaks so I removed the EGR and all the nasty lines. Again no boost! Here is where it gets wierd....... I noticed the WGA sticking open so I popped it off and put it back on. IT BOOSTED! Went to adjust the MBC adjusted it twice and then NO BOOST! At this point i was like WTF. I looked at the WGA stuck open again. Pulled the WGA off and replaced it. Same thing no boost. I put an air nozzle up to both the WGA and it opens and closes. At this point I was furious so I changed the IC, all the IC pipping, rechecked the lines, and even bypassed the MBC just to see if it would boost. Heck no NO BOOST! The Turbo came off of a running car so I am pretty positive that the turbo is good. Now I was told that the housing itself (Turbo) could be bad and be a factor in why its not boosting, what do you guys think????

thats odd... maybe the actuator just needs to be lubed up. spray some wd40 on it and see what happens.

Leak tester anyone that will tell you pretty quick whats wrong. But from what I have been 9 times outta 10 its the WG not anything else. Take it out on the highway and start a 3rd gear pull and see if it builds boost by the top of 3rd if it does its the WG. Maybe turbo to mani is leaking mani cracked a million things check the easiet first. Make a leak tester.

2 diferent WGA's???? Come to think about it 3! No its not the WGA. Manifold is a new 2G Ported and polished. I know its hard to diagnos over the computer but this is killing me. Even with the MBC gone closing the WGA would kill that turbo with all the boost it would throw out but nothing. I guess the only thing to do would be change the Turbo Housing since all the othe r stuff has been changed.

did you check for shaft play when you put the turbo on? i agree with hellotbone make a leak tester it only cost me $10 at home depot, and i found lots of leaks that i didnt know about. if your housing on the turbo has a crack that is leaking you will know right away with a leak tester.

The actual wastegate may be stuck open inside the exhaust housing. Try disconnecting the cotter pin and then remove the WGA rod where it attaches to the lever and make sure it moves freely back and forth.
