Is my oil cooler choice a good one?

This is another instance of me doing a lot of reserch on something, buying all the parts, and then second guessing myself. I have all of the stuff im about to talk about, and chances are it will get installed but even so.

I have this

I have the racing cooler, 11 by 8, and it is giant. I also have permacool thermostat, remote filter mount for fram hp-1, as well as a permacool filter adapter and the mitsu houseing with nothing but the filter, no water or air cooler provisions. Finaly i will connect it all together with aeroquip socketless -an 10 fittings and hose. It shoudl turn out to be a pretty bullet proof oil system, but what do the gearheads think.

oh by the way, i will have a heat sheild on the lines where they go near the turbo.

You should be fine. My only thought is that you spent a lot more money than you needed to, but that's the fun of it, isn't it?

The most important part is the thermostat- warm oil = good, cold oil = bad.

Where are you planning on installing this cooler?

You probably don't want to add it in front of the radiator, that just kinda defeats your purpose, adding heat from the oil coller to your flow of the radiator.

I replaced the stock one on my car, it's diminsions are 6x10" I believe. You can check it for ideas on some other threads here or, pix's in my gallery. :laser:

gonna shoe horn it into the driver side duct... where the at cooler was untill i replaced it...
