Future Turbo

It looks similar to all of the other bolt on 50 trims. You might have to modify your intercooler pipe a little bit.

You will also need to block the water lines from the stock turbo. And if your a 1g you need to setup the oil to feed from the oil filter housing.

Make sure you get it from the clean oil port.

Other than that it should bolt in pretty easy.

hey thanks alot for the help man, like the sound of of it being pretty much bolt on.

Another question, i was researching the turbo flow man of this turbo yesterday, and it looks similar to the flow map of a 20G, slightly better. But this was my first time reading and attempting to understand the turbo map. Is that correct it being slightly better then a 20G turbo?

Actually the 50 trim flows more than the flow map. Atleast from looking at dyno numbers there are guys probably pumping out an extra 10lb per minute. It also has a pretty high pressure ratio which is a good thing to have on a car like ours.

And the simple fact that Garrett wheels are much more efficient at high (turbo) RPM's.

damn travis, i know im stupid but give me some credit. Im not going out tomorrow and buying it to just throw on. Thats why i asked about injector sizes in my original post. I already have a upgraded fuel pump, so will just need to get injectors, and probably going to do a FPR as well.

Hey, im just trying to get some feedback from anyone who may have installed or experienced this turbo.

http://www.slowboyracing.com/Garrett_Hybrid/G-50/SBR-G-50.html

If you have installed it, have basic questions, as far as support (does it mount to stock mani, injectors, O2 houseing, DP Size, running front or Side Innercoler)

Any info would be of great help. Thanks

I have the 56 trim, but the set up is the same. However I personally wouldn't run it with the stock mani or dp. I'm running a 3" Apex exhaust setup, with a ported EVO 02, and DNp mani. Not saying you have to do the exact same thing, but if you are going to run that turbo, you should definitely open up the exhaust flow.

With the supporting mods, that SMIC should definitely be replaced-at least with a Super SMIC like Travis has.

yea, i have had my 02 housing ported by slowboy already, and i have a 2.5dp. I have also had a stage two port job done to my exh mani. If that mani will work, ill just use it for now, can upgrade that at a later date easily enough.

With the 3" DP, do you run into any types of boost creep issues? I also have plans for a front mount as well.

A ported 2g manifold is perfect for the 50 trim.

I don't see the point in spending money on a manifold. I would concentrate on the fuel system and engine managment.

It would be nice if you could get dsmlink.

An afc would probably do fine if your on a budget though.

speaking of engine management, ill have the link in about two weeks id say. Im going to get use to it on the T-25, and ill be upgrading the fuel before the turbo (obvious reasons id say) so i can manage the fuel better.

Our new turbine casting is not done by "PTE" and will be our very own, same as our GT turbine housing, however set up to take the standard bearing CHRA as well as possibly a few of Innovative's CHRA's that are in testing now.

However, we will still offer the "PTE" housing for those who wish to have PTE products.

We also have our new cast manifold done.....

I wouldn't have bought my Evo manifold off you if you told me you were going to make that manifold Mike! J/k but that manifold looks great :thumb:
Hey Jerry I met you at the track that one night I have that turbo on my car and am now saving up to get the dsmlink as well. :thumb:

nice, what kinda times are you putting down with it. I saw in your profile your putting down low 14s. Is that it???

Yea I've never had the car tuned and it dynoed at 290hp at 18psi. Which isn't too depressing but when i went to the track that night my car felt like poop. I found out I have a exhaust leak coming off the turbo and a major boost leak and I wasn't reaching full boost till 5200 rpms. Also that was my first time ever at the track and my car wasn't running right so don't get caught up in my numbers too much until everythings fixed.

ahh ok, well not to bad concidering a maj boost leak.

Saw those #s and was disappointed since it was being out run by 16Gs. Was looking for mid - low 16s with that turbo with your setup.

Plus that night we ran was crappy as HELL
