Me and my buddy installed and ApexiN1 catback in his car the car is completely stock except for the exhaust and now the car won't rev past 4000 RPM and runs like a diesel anybody know what the problem is? could it be that he needs an intake or something to give it more air

Are you sure you guys didn't knock any intercooler pipes loose or anthing. Did you mess around in the engine bay to do anything with your pipes or anything to have done so. What kind of boost are you building. Also, what about the back 02 sensor on the cat. Did you guys put it back on (if your model has one). Are you sure you tightened the catback on and it isn't leaking at any of the gaskets or anything. Check your whole exhaust system from the engine all the way to the back, for exhaust leaks.

I'm just shooting in the wind here, and I'm not a guru here so be warned. But it does sound like a boost leak though. Thats all I can offer as you might have to give a little more info about your setup (you don't have your mods listed in your profile), and the installation.

I would have to go with a IC pipe problem. Alsomost as if you knocked one off and didn't realize it.. It could cause a very loud sounding car and without any correct MAF readings the ECU might be in "Limp" mode. I would check all IC piping first. If you can't find anything wrong just take it all off and check out the inner piping to make sure their isn't any hugh cracks and reseal them back up.

Guys we fixed it it was a stupid clamp. I guess when you put a whole engine and trans in. You can forget to tighten a clamp. thanks for your post because it made me go back and check all the intake connections and not the car is running like a dream :dsm:

Good glad you figured it out. It sounded like a severe boost leak. I'm guessing that the car was in limp mode thus you couldn't rev over 4K RPM's... I know I forget crap all the time. Like tightening the damn alt. bolt after reinstalling it. Lost that bolt on the hwy. and now I don't have a cool tighting both just a regular holding bolt now.

did this make the car run really rich? I have the same problem and i was wondering if a sever boost leak would cause it to run extremely rich.
