Ottawa,
i blew up my motor in my car a few months back and i am now finally putting the pieces back together... now my turbo is finished to (14b) and i was wondering a few things.

1. i wanted to just replace my 14b with a brand new 16g, but i don't want to have to enter the whole AFC, 660cc injector, huge fuel pump saga.

so i was wondering, even with a 16g, i am only going to run 14psi... i was curious if just getting a 255 pump(also re-wire), a FPR and maybe turn up the pressure a little??? i am fairly knowledged in N/A cars, but unsure of which path to follow with my car.

or should i just get a used 14b, re-wire my stock pump and forget about it?

A 16g isn't a huge step above a 14b, so yes, you can throw the 16g in there and run your 14psi; you could probably do that on the stock unwired fuel pump, but I would recommmend getting at least an upgraded fuel pump. 1g's have a lower base fuel pressure, so getting an adustable fpr wouldn't be a bad idea either, but probably not totally necessary. And I wouldn't rewire a walbro 255, just my opinion. If you do rewire it, then you will need the afpr.

With just a fuel pump, you could probably run 18psi or so on the 16g, or until you heat soak the intercooler.

don't 1gs have smaller injectors too though? I'd say anything over 15 psi on stock injectors he'd run into problems on a 16g no matter how big the pump right?

I also am looking into a fuel pump and im kinda new to dsms and was wondering if a 255 is too much for a mildly modded car (16g k&n intake pipe downpipe and exhaust) would be overkill or if it would be ok tothrow in there for later. Just wasnt sure if there were problems with too much fuel at lower boost or anything? Any help would be great.
:talon:

You should be able to safely run 16-17 psi on a b16g with a upgraded fuel pump and a AFPR. If your worried about it, get an EGT gauge and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn get too hot. I managed to get 21 psi out of my 14b on race gas with just a pump and a AFPR.
