hey guys. i'm hearing a different sound from my turbo on my 96 gst. its a totally stock car. sometimes when i go to work in the morning, and i'm assuming it is just because the engine is still cold, when the turbo chirps, it sorta sounds like a hissing noise. it sounds normal, but just longer. if that makes any sense and anyone knows if its just cuz the engine is cold, let me know. thanks

Just curious, are you letting your car warm up fully before you hit boost? If not you could damage your motor.

turbos do make hissing noises...its prolly just normal...is this your first turbo car?

it is my first turbo, yes. but the hissing sound only happens in the morning. but it has just started doing it. thats why i was wondering if something was wrong, or what.

dude the noise is completely normal especially since you live on the east coast, our humidity and cooler weather in the morning just make condensation and steam off of hot stuff, my turbo didnt do it till fall and only in the morning, i live in ohio....i think its just normal dude...
