hey guys,
i got some extra cash ive been saving to buy a aftermarket oil pressure gauge, but ive been enlightened by a fellow dsm'er that the stock one is accurate enough to use. Ive just eliminated my balance shafts, thats all

what do you guys think?
if not ill just buy an EGT gauge (autometer) and a TRE probe

thanks

Seconded.
I'm a little iffy on things like oil pressure gauges anyway- so it starts to show lower pressure, what do you do? Stop and rebuild? It's not like a temperature gauge that shows you something you can (usually) fix on the road. Loathsome as they are, oil idiot ("Too late!") lights are enough.

i have an autometer oil pressure gauge in place of my stock one, i love it...very easy to tell when your a bit low after you learn to read it, also is a wonderful reminder not to floor it until it is well warmed up. it is cheap like $60 with sender, however you must make your own line to remote mount the sender, vibration kills it if you mount to oil filter housing. if you dont have an EGT get that first, it is much more important, but i think the oil pressure gauge is well worth the money. I will be replacing the factory water temp gauge when i get money, though it costs alot more.

I have a 3 pilliar gauge pod in my 90 with UL autometer oil press, EGT and 30/30 boost vacume.
To be honest with you I look the oil pressure gauge if I remember but mosly the EGT and boost. The TRE probe is kick ass and a tool well worth the money the best there is.
Anyway the stock one is fine and all you really need. And by the way I am freek about oil pressure. just my 2 cents
I tryed hooking the stock gauge wire and autometer gauge wire up to the autometer sender but only one gauge will work WHF? (you get used to looking at the stock gauge)
I replaced the stock sender with the sender from autometer just to give you a reference point.
