exchanging turbos?

Ok here's the problem. I bought a turbo from precision at a local "ghetto" shop. I bought it there because one of my friends runs the shop so he said he'd give me a good deal. Well he was going to make me a custom manifold and modify my downpipe and I wanted to go external wastegate so he just sold me a regular precision sc61 turbo. The turbo has just been sitting at my house for a few weeks while I Was waiting for this damn manifold. Well now he tells me he can't make the manifold and I don't want to spend the $600 on an aftermarket one. Do you guys think it would be fair if precision let me exchange my turbo for the mitsubishi specific turbo as long as I pay the price difference? There is a great demand for this turbo and it has never even been bolted up or anything. I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask them because they are only about an hour away from where I live ... but I would like to just use a stock 2g manifold and the SCM61 now. Shouldn't I kind of expect them to do this for me if I am willing to pay the price difference and I bought both a turbo and a fmic from them which totals to over $1200? I'm going to call them tomorrow .. just wondering what I should expect to hear from them or what I should tell them.

thanks for all the help . I called them and they are letting me exchange housings. I just have to pay the $141 price difference.
