GM MAF install Q's, plz help!

I'm planning on buying a GM MAF w/translator and have a couple questions... I tried searching but even after reading like 20 threads arguing about wether the translator can tune or not, I couldn't find the answers to my specific questions.

First off, is v2 out yet? The one with more adjustments?
Second, do I need the stock aircan assembly with the GM MAF? I have a 2 1/2" hard intake pipe from dsmparts, will it fit? Really I just need to know what adapters I'd need etc for install.
Last question... I also need to buy a new UICP. If I have the GMMAFT, should I buy just a solid pipe, or should I buy the upper blowby kit? If I get the blowby kit, does the MAF install in the IC pipe or to the filter like the stock MAF? And if I do get it, can I vent the stock BOV without idle probs?

From what I've heard, V2 is out now and it makes it alot easier to tune with than the original version. To make it work with your Upper pipe, I would get some 2.5" to 3" silicone couplers and cut out the necessary pipe to keep your spacing intanct. You can set up the MAF pre turbo or post BOV.

Yes, the latest is 2.08. It has some more tuning abilites via adjust per rpm range.

You really don't need to retain any of your stock stuff. It all depends on the location of the gm maf. You can put the gm maf in front of the turbo; draw through mode. Filter->gmmaf->intake pipe to turbo. Or you can put the gm maf in blow through mode. Here the gm maf goes in your upper ic pipe, after the bov and before the throttle body. If you do this, you will really need a new upper ic pipe designed for the gm maf. I orginally tried to get some silicone adapters and try to fit the maf into my current upper ic pipe, but it wouldn't work. Dejon tool makes lots of different upper ic pipes for the gm maf; stock sidemount or fmic configurations. If you go blow through, then all you need for the intake of the turbo is a filter and a pipe to the inlet of the turbo.

I think I answered most of that above. If you go draw through (maf is before inlet of turbo), then you can not vent the bov; the maf has already metered the air. You should recirculate in this case. If you go blow through, (maf is after bov and before throttle body), then you can vent the bov because the maf has not seen that air yet. I don't know about venting a 1g bov. You can do it, but it might be a good idea to crush it. I know my old 1g bov started leaking at 17 or 18psi. When I got my gm maf setup, I got a new greddy type s.
 
Oh, actually, 1 more question.. hehe. I have the 2 1/2" curved intake pipe from dsmparts designed to fit the 1g maf. If I get a blowthrough UICP and put the gm maf there, what do I need to get a K&N to fit to the end of my intake pipe? I assume I'd have to buy a new 3" one, but the desc of my intake pipe says that the inlet is 3 1/8".
 
you can just go to pepboys or sumwhere like that and get a kn style filter with a 3"inlet. If your intake pipe was designed to attach to a 1g MAS, then a 3"inlet filter should work. It'll prolly be a tight fit, but it should fit. And if it doesn't, then just cut off where it expands a little bit until its closer to 3" and then it'll fit like a glove! Or another option would be to sell that intake you have now, and just go and but a 90 degree 3" mandrel bend, and make yourself your own intake.
