i love my 2.5" turbo back mandrel bent exhaust, test pipe, and its straight through muffler, because it is very beneficial for power. what i dont like, however, is how loud it is; it has become irritating to me.

i'd love to get a resonator, but i dont want to hack up my exhaust. my question then i guess: is there such a thing as a "clamp-on" resonator? it seems like they would work just as well as any welded-on straight through resonator, but with less cutting and welding. what makes me want it so badly is because there's quite a bit of straight section in the fwd's exhaust route...i'd stick as many resonators as i can on that badboy to shut it up.
of course these things probably dont exist and i should probably be trying to design and market one, but im way too lazy for that. i wonder if dynamat is resistant to heat...?

I would look for a dynamax or magnaflow bullet muffler/resonator and put it in place of your test pipe. Im sure you could find one the right size and rre has flanges you could have welded on. It would be a bolt-in affair.

Have you thought of trying a different muffler. I have heard many different exhausts with straight thru mufflers and some are a lot quieter than others. You may have one that just doesn't quiet the exhaust down very much. Just a thought, something you might consider.

Good point. Also get one with a silencer. My silencer quiets mine down ALOT.
