I was half tempted to post in the want adds but I need more info.

I have a 98 GSX auto. Block is blown. I want a massive 6bolt setup manual. Installed. Pushing around 400 horse. Not a daily driver. Iam also looking for a well respected tuner in the area to compile a list of goodies they feel is more then suitable for my needs, and to help make my dreams come true. I have around $7500 for the project. For time and labor of the dirty work, I will make it worth your while. Price for help on everything is negot.

As the remains of the stock internals I just wants them gone. The head is perfect with only 38k on it. Serious I. ONLY Serious In.!!

WASHINGTON STATE area.

Thanks.

Well, doing a swap from AT to MT is a HUGE undertaking to the tune of around $4000 to $5000 depending on your labor cost. If you aren't going with a DD motor, why not get a 2.4L block from Magnus Motorsports or build your own. All 7bolt 2.4L are 4G64, the 6bolt 2.4L are out of Hyundai Sonatas (not sure of the year but search around).

The 4G63 block accepts the 4G64 crank to make it a 2.3-liter motor. All you will need is stock type rods and stroker pistons ( Wiseco ). Its costs around 600$ for the crank, 350$ for rods and 400$ for pistons. Assume you are going to buy rods and pistons already, that extra .3-liters only costs 600$. Not too bad.

i had thought about doing that, but dont you lose top end? i know you get low end but i dunno how much i wanna lose top end for some low end, is this true, if so why???

You would only lose topend if you stuck with the same turbo. With a right sized turbo ( larger ), the powerband would peak sooner and stay flatter longer. Discplacement is always a good thing, especially when you get more of it.

Theres no replacement for displacement,

also, to the origanl post. If you have 7.5k why not just buy a new car with all the"goodies" already on it? I know thats not as much fun when you dont get to build it yourself but it sure would be cheaper! :thumb:

i hate when people say that.
forced induction is a replacment for displacement of a engine.

What about forced induction on a big block with 500 cubes? That WILL put down MORE power than forced induction on lets say...our motors! There is NO replacement for displacement. Its all about who can stuff the most fuel and air into their motor.

um okay? i didnt say that forced induction on a 4 cylinder was better then forced induction on say a V8, i just said forced induction is a replacement for deplacement, and it is.:thumb:

YES there is replacement for displacement.

look at it like this, sorta.....i would rather have a turbocharged/nitrous/supercharged 5.0 liter engine then a normal 6.0 liter engine, BUT i would rather have a 6.0L eninge with turbo compaired to a 5.0L engine with turbo or a normal 7.0L engine......do you see where im going with this???

My first choice setup was, a SlowBoy 4g63 Stage2 Short Block with a Stage2 Race Head. When I called Slowboy, they informed me that those are 6bolt blocks. The turbo I have in choice is a 60trim. So this is going to be a real project. What I would like is pretty much an aftermarket setup all around. From Motor to Ecu etc. I'am hoping to achieve this for no more then $8k. As far as the exterior of the vehicle goes, I'am doing the "Supra Conversion" of the tail lights. For side skirts and front bumper, I have not yet found a suttle kit I have liked. Currently the interior of the car is gutted. I'am going to tackle this "beast" 1 item at a time. In the end of all the time and money I have set forth into this vehicle, I would have greater respect for a ride that I was to build compared to one that I could buy. This is how I made my car an investment. So all personal opinions on custom motor setups, I enjoy greatly. In alittle over a month I plan on rolling the ball. I will def. post pictures of the process. Aswell as the items that I end up deciding to use. Thanks again for the info. I enjoy reading more. Thanks. -Rob

60 will work fine on your stock motor.
