Las Vegas,
So... Ive got a truck and a trailer now... and a car to daily drive. Time to make my talon a track only drag car.

I sold my t3/t4 turbo kit and my 6bolt block (95pistons ect) which got me in the 11s and then I got drunk one night and cut it up too... the car weighs about 2500-2600lbs Im guessing.

The block and head will be done this week(9.1 je's,crower rods, tork plate honed, port polished head stainless oversized valves springs retainers...vpc-gcc. nx single fogger kit)
I was and I need some help picking a turbo.

I was wondering if any of you guys had any experiance with Mutt turbos?
The only guy really using them that is going fast is Jeff Elliot. The ETE73 seems to make the power Im looking for. Being internal wastgate kinda scares me .....I had a bad experiance with a hahn super 20g years ago.

The map looks great on that turbo.
In anycase
I was considering a T66 with a small housing
or this ETE73.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I haven't personally seen a lot of feedback on the ETE73 as of yet...

But, I personally run an ETE52 on my daily driver....it runs awesome!!

It's a 400whp daily driver as of now. The internal gate works...but I do think an external would do better. The way mine is set currently it makes 20lbs of boost around 4k I guess....and then as the rpms go up> it makes its way up to 25lbs of boost at maybe 5k and holds till redline.
I believe the reason for the delay of full boost is that the adjustable wastegate(even though tightened down) begins to open at like 15lbs.

There is a local guy here in Atlanta who just got his street/drag project up and running(it has an ETE73 and a 200shot of nitrous on it>among other things). We'll see how he does soon.

its a strong turbo..hits boost pretty quick for its size...not a daily driver turbo...on the street the car likes to stall out.....i might actaully get rid of it and get a green..but OMG if u want boost...this is the turbo

If you are going for an all out nasty drag car just spend the friggin coin and do it right. Garrett turbo, turbular manifold with a nice TiAl 40mm wastegate and 3" downpipe off the turbine housing.

The only other DSM flanged turbo I would even consider in that type of application is the FP3065.

I have an ETE-12, one of teh first mutts after the original Mutt. It is ratted at 400WHP at maxx, good for about 320 on the stree. HAd it a year, beat the hell out of it, not really turbo timed, run 20PSI daily.

Great turbo, no issues except a leaky Oil return line, which was replaced for free.

I'm holding my finger to my nose and pointing at JayHass.

I have an ETE42 (60 trim) and I do like it. It has done me well so far. But if you are going to do a drag car, get a Full T4 setup with a tubular or cast exhaust manifold and a 40mm Tial. You will not be dissapointed. The ETE73 is taking a big risk on a relativly unproven turbo (Jell Elliot had a shaft shear off at the shootout I think). I know cars going mid 10s on a T61. Also check into the GT series turbos as many of those look very promising. Just dont get the mutt for a drag turbo, I think you will be disappointed.

Is it streetable? I plan to build my engien in the future and run a Turbo Like the green or Bigger. How is that turbo for a Daily driver? I know the green has yanked high tens, do you suppose that and a external WG is the ultimate street turbo?

I personally like the 50 trim wheel with a T3 Hi-Flow back wheel better than the TD06H back wheel, but that's just me.
