Just picked up a 95 awd auto talon. It would shift very very hard from 2-3, no reverse no OD.
I pulled the motor and tranny before I could pull the tcu codes. But the pulse generators and shift solenoids ohm within spec. The TCU doesn't look burnt and there are no leaky caps and no bad smells.
So I found another auto transmission for a good price but I am not sure it will work (I have always owned manuals so bare with me). I have read that you can only use 95-96 auto tranny's with the 95-96 transfer case, and I would need the tranny and matching transfer case from a 97-99 to use that. Now today I was just told differently, that any 95-99 tranny will work. Could someone enlighten me.
Also, the other tranny I found is a awd turbo tranny but the guy wasn't sure what year. How can you tell the year from the numbers on the case? Here are those numbers:
W4A33K1UP02
DE3172
Anyone have a good way of testing the ecu out of the car?
Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
Fluid looked good and it was full also.
