I recently got another 90' Laser and it is A/T. My friend gave it to me after he blow up the engine...I dropped in a new engine and went to start it and nothing....So I did some investigating and found out that the torque converter was locked up (What a pain in the azz, trying to take it out without turning the converter to get to the bolts). Anyway, when I spin the TC backwards it spins fine and when I spin it forward it turns a little then stops, and you CANNOT move it any further, and you have to hit it with a hammer to move it backwards to get it unstuck. Thus, my starting problem (Engine runs fine with now tranny). I also got my finger caught in between the flywheel and bell housing (OMG, that freakin' HURT!!!!) and bleed all over the place. Anyway, some guy at a tranny shop said my TC may be bad.....Any experience on this, answers, suggestions, comments, etc, etc...

It sounds like you may have blown up the pump.

John or a dealer can get you the pump, but they are special order items and never in stock.

That's kewl....how much are they?.......Can anyone tell me how to replace one?

They are close to $300. I believe you have to drop the trans to install a pump.

trans pumps are behind the torque converter, as they are driven by the input shaft. I dont know about dsm's but I do know that som fords you have to remove the bell housing, but others you dont. they just have bolts behind the converter.
