It says on the Penn. site it only mentions M/T use...can it be used in A/T's?

s'funny, my brother has it in his A/T GSX and it shifts like butter.
Where do you get your evidence that it can't be used in them? Just wondering.

manuals usually use gear oil, and automatics use automatic transmission fluid. Only once have I seen a maual that was MEANT to use ATF, but I have never seen a A/T that uses gear oil.

He may ahve some Pennzoil product in an automatic transmission, but it sure as hell had better not be Syncromesh. Otherwise that "butter" shift is going to get awfully melted very soon.

I will restate the obvious here- you absolutely cannot put synchromesh in an automatic transmission of any type.

All autos need some type of ATF, as do many manuals and transfer cases made by some manufacturers.

Well I know, but who knows these days.
See we bought it off a DSM'er who knows everything, rebuilds own engines, does all his own work, doesn't skimp on cheap fluids/parts etc.
So maybe I heard the guy wrong, Is there another Pennzoil product that's good for A/Ts that could have been what he used?
