91 TSi awd auto only works in 3rd and revurse

This 1991 TSi AWD with auto transmission only works in 3rd and revurse, whats the problem? the last owner said it was one of the three sensors or something in the transmission, it dosent slip, just only will drive in 3rd and revurse

It sounds like it's in limp mode. You will need to check the TCU codes.

The last owner said it had a bad servo, if that could be true i have an auto trans from a 93 eclipse 1.8L if i can use the servos out of that-that would be great.

If you don't check the codes you are essentially trying to piss up a rope, from a diagnostic standpoint.

how do i check the codes? there isnt a check engine light on i dont belive
