Megan 2.5"-3" cat-delete dp : review

Here's a cliffs notes on the Megan 2.5"-3" cat-delete downpipe.

99 GST

Fitment:
This thing is perfect. It seats perfectly on the stock o2 housing, and mated up perfectly to my SP2 exhaust. If you have a stock exhaust, it will mate up perfectly to that too then. The hangers that hold the downpipe to the insulators are in the perfect place also. They point towards the back of the car instead of towards the front like the stock hangers, but it is not a problem whatsoever. FYI it is a 2.5" inlet and a 3" outlet. Oh, there is this tab with a hole in it near the hangers, but I don't know what it is there for and I'm not worried about it.

Quality:
Megan Racing is proving themselves over and over again it seems. From the quality of the metal, the welds, everything. The downpipe is super sturdy, and pretty much looks like it was made from a robotic assembly line (which I wouldn't be surprised if it was because it is so accurately). The finish also is excellent, not that I care about it since noone will see it.

Packaging:
One big box, a plastic bag of 4 nuts/bolts/washers and two gaskets, the dp wrapped in bubblewrap, and another plastic bag with a warranty card. Oh that last bag comes with two really nice lookin MR stickers. The bubblewrap coulda been thicker I suppose, but hey it made it all the way here to my house without any damage so I guess it is sufficient.

Installation:
A monkey can do it. I say that because I am one and I did it. It is very straightforward. I don't need to continue with this section. It comes with all the hardware you would possibly need for the installation, although I didn't even use two of the bolts/nuts/washers because I re-used the stock o2 housing studs . . . which fit through the dp flange without any problems. Like I said, a monkey can do this . . . I'm serious.

Performance:
Well I'm not going back to the dyno just to see what a dp did for performance, but I do have to say it seemed to wake up the exhaust a significant amount in terms of spooling the t2small even faster than before. Also the sound of the car has improved also with a much deeper sexy manlike tone, and a beastlike angry tiger sound at WOT.

I don't think I overlooked anything, but If any of you guys reading this are considering this downpipe, don't consider it. Just buy it.
