I don't like have my amp where it is. What I did was took a piece of plywood and cut it to the size of the amp then put said piece of plywood under the carpet in the hatch where I wanted my amp and then just screwed my amp into the plywood. I hate how it looks. I need some ideas of where to put it. It's just a Jensen 400w 4-channel so it's not very big. Also, what can I do with my sub? I have a 12" Xplod in a box I got from Walmart. What I am planning on doing is cutting the spare tire hump out and putting a piece of sheet metal or something over it so that it is flat. But, if I can't do this, what are my other options?

my amp is sercured next to my spare tire...can't see it and there is enough room there so it doesn't overheat.

Looks clean and most importantly, doesn't take up valuable trunk space.

not too sure on the size of your amp but am sure it would fit where the stock amp is...it's located in-front of your gear selector under the radio.

:talon: you would have to run more wire from stock position and it would be more of a chore, but it's for the better. on the subject of your woofers, trow out that wal*mart box, and build your own to fit the contours of your interior. it just takes some wire, plywood, choice of finishing/carpeting to put on box when done building it, and of course the skill of wood work... you will want to put it where you don't think that it will harm the hatch window...hmm...hope those woofers aren't too good...any ways, with the ability of your design, you can also put in some plexi-glass and have cool lighting. hope this helps!

I don't understand where your saying the stock am is? Do you think it would be possible to put the amp under my passenger seat? Would it overheat there?

:talon: when I took out my dash to fix my cd player, right under the a/c , radio controlls and in front of your center concil, you should find that there is a stock amp. my car came with one 1990 tsi awd 5-speed. I don't know why yours would be any different. but it is a good spot to put a different one since there is already one down there...you kinda have to look for it when you take out your controll panel. I hope you go with my idea of fabricating your own box, especially if you are serious about looks and your car. not a great space saver but if you were worried about that then you wouldn't want a woofer in the first place! :thumb:

is this amp a gold color?? if so that's your ecu, not an amp. many people mount their amps either to their boxes or to the backs of the rear seats.

How would I mount it to the back of my back seats? There is nothing there.

I'll take a pic of how i mounted mine.Although i have a 2nd gen.My buddy mounted his to the back of the rear seat.2nd gens have a metal plate in teh rear seat.He used self tapping screws to mount it.

i have a 97 gst i keep my amp under the passenger seat it is a great pacle and easy to wire to but u need to buy like two or three washers to but under each corner of the seat where it bolts to the ground becuase of hiet issues if u put wood unedr it wont fit it will not move there isnt alot of room for it to move

I went under the Passenger Seat - Shimmed the Rear Track Bolts up an inch - just a washer or 2 under the Front Track Bolts - Short run fron Console area & Power Lead - Good close Ground Bolt opportunities with the Seat Belt mounts - etc... :dsm:
