What do you all think about racing stripes? I'm thinking about doing (2) 9" stripes down the middle. My car is cayenne red pearl (see sig) and I would do gray/silver stripes. Everthing else on my car is pretty clean..black wheels w/polished lip, black projectors, and black altezzas. What's your opinions? Thanks.:thumb:

Here's a pic of the car to give you an idea. The logo would be removed, but the stripes would be the same color as that.

im a fan of the stripes where one is like 5 inches, the other is like 2.5in..

dont know the correct size, but i think itll look better.

btw: i was thinking about getting that decal on my hump too.. sweet lookin mod...:thumb: :dsm:

I agree, raceing stripes only look good on classic muscle cars IMO.

Raceing strips only belong on a RACE CAR, which none of us here own. If it was a race car a real one, it wouldn't be even close to street leagle.

I do like the body kit though, and I do like the mistu badge, where did you get it?

We'll discuss stripes here. Not whether there's a deeper meaing behind them, nor if they show some trait in the owner who has them.

I'm kinda partial to them, but I'm from the sixties. They put stripes on every goddamned thing (even Herbie). Chrysler tried putting them around the tail, striving for _anything_ different.

I dunno, though, that color's too cool to cover.

I agree, especially after a good waxin'. But I've also noticed that that the few silver/gray decals I have now coordinate very well with it , perhaps even accent it. The color scheme seems to be a little more "distinguished" and "clean"..which is what I'm going for and not some exotic or contrasting bright & flashy colors that jump out at you.

The racing stripes I had on my Porsche came down to a point in the front, I liked the look of that...something a little different.
Sorry for the bad pic, 110 camera:rolleyes:

I speak from experience when I say don't do it. Especially if you are going to paint them because then you'll have to repaint your whole car when you get absolutly sick of them as i am of mine.

I was planning on doing vinyl, this way if I decided I didn't like them I could just take them off.

Hm. I'd watch for bleaching not-under them for the paint. That is, if you take them off, the paint they'd been covering may well be darker.

Oh, and putting vinyl on in a straight line.... yikes.

If I kept the car well waxed, that should protect it pretty well from sun-damage, right?

Cheapest I could find was $30 for 15' of two 9" stripes. I didn't think that was too bad.

Check my Gallery, I dont know if I should keep it or take it off. Any opinions would help.

I'm not a big fan of the single stripe style, but it doesn't look bad. I'll bet it would look even better if your car was lowered with some nice (possibly white) wheels.
