I've got the tan interior in my 2g im looking to do something with it.

Is it possilbe to wrap interior parts in something sort of like vinyl instead of repainting it all?

How hard is it to paint everything your first time around? I dont want anything flashy i would probably go all black, or white hehe.

Anyone have any great looking tan interiors so that i can get an idea of what to do?

My other cars have had black interiors, and well it's not that hard to be creative with them, but i sat in my car the other day and looked around me and all i could do was sigh.

If you re-vinyl the interior you are in for a BIG project and LOTS of time to do it correctly. You might of seen "geekyguru's" interior...it looks great BUT he will tell you it was a huge undertaking and takes alot of materials, hence $ to start it up. Oh, and there is a bit of a learning curve.
Painting will work if done correctly and using the right paint things will come out great, but you always are gonna' be worrying about someone scuffing it or something, thus rendering an ugly interior. Supposively Krylon works great for the HARD plastics and SEMS for the soft vinyl and fabric. I painted my interior BUT I also stripped everything out and used proper prep methods and then took my time doing the actual painting. No flaws yet in about 2 years or so...but that is being re-done now, kinda' like re-vinyling so to speak. ;)If you can take the part out and use an airgun instead of a can then that's golden!!
Another option is to look on the "trader" or junk yards for black interior parts and swap it all out. But you will be racing against alot of other folks attempting that..but still try. Maybe get the larger parts that way and paint or vinyl the smaller parts.
I have seen tan and black done right and it looks GREAT together..all tan though, ehhhh. Especially tan and stock cloth seats!! Eww.
Good luck and try to get stock black parts as the first option and go from there.

This is the best I could dig up. But I know the guy ["Mortis" on MachV]so finding a pic wasn't hard (it is in my gallery as well as another tan interior with just a black (carbon dash top). Mortis also redyed his back seat, just the middle section of the seats was left tan...also dyed his door panel insets black. Looks really good close up.

hey guys , hey sorry i dont know how old these posts are but i figured id give my ideas about it....the one guy who posted was right on...ive used krylon paint and its awesome also took the right prep steps. Im in the middle because the dash is gonna be a little bit of a task to pull out, but here is what mine looks like....

I also had the tan interior with the cloth seats...my seats will be in soon LOL (momo street racer GT 2)
Here u go enjoy....

ok so pics are to big go here....webshots .com

the tan cloths on the 2g eclipses are NASTY!!!!!!!!!! i use to have it in my 98.. the tan leather does look pretty decent though.. i have no problem with the tan leather.. but the tan cloth is just nasty with thaat nasty print.. i would suggest just gettin tan leather seats front/back and the door panels.. only other thing is converting to 99 all black leather interior.. but thast a dream and a lot of money.. good luck.. i know how it was with hte tan cloth..

if u have the tan leather.. u shouldnt be trippin it aint alll that bad.. id rock it.. esp if the car is the maroon, green, or black color.. they seem to go well with that..

Yeah i've already thought about switching out interiors, even stealing my friends dads 3000gt interior because it looks like it would fit, it would be hard to find and it would be a pain in the ass, to get a good job done id have to pay an arm and a dick however I was looking around the site randomly and i found these on someone elses post, i hate to jack the pics and not give thanks but i forgot where their from:

<img src="http://www.digitalstar.com/realms/images/278413.JPG"/>

and

<img src="http://www.digitalstar.com/realms/OriginalImages/278401ORIG.JPG"/>

It's very ($500 a door unpainted) costly but better than me ruining my doors.

got a link to http://www.teamprototype.com/ from the other post also. My question now is where can i find a dash kit like that :)? id really appreciate some info.

and then awd conversion and i'll be happy with my car. (increase in hp needed too).

*edit*
i shouldnt do this at 3am, the post below me had these damn pics.

it isn't the carbon I am showing but the black/tan combo..which doesn't look bad IMO. Black/Tan can work pretty nice, especially with leather or race seats.

i konw you werent showing it off, but i think that s what he was asking when he said, "what did you do, stitch?"

my car domain has before and after photos of my old black and tan and new red black and tan that isnt finished yet www.cardomain.com/id/chuckt

;) BTW your interior looks really good too. I like the way you are going with the red and black/tan. Ya' need red or black race seats now.:D

thanks for the compliment. im getting either red or black carpet soon, not sure yet, (help me decide) and i plan on getting seats eventually as well as finishing painting the passenger side kick panels/glovebox red, and i also have a cf pattern red vinyl im gonna wrap the inserts in... too bad this damn snow wont go away so i can go in the garage and work on this stuff... also theres gonna be a new lcd screen too, flush mounted where the center vents are, and removable so i can put the vents in during winter still:) then headliner reclothed or if i have time, fiberglassed... LOTS TO DO STILL

oh ok, the pic didnt show up very well man, and excuse my ignorance. I wasn't trying to diss it, creative idea and the interior looks very nice, my biggest problem is just the wavey pattern or whatever you want to call it all over.

how hard is the carbon dash top do do? (if you cant tell i really dont know much about interiors)

NONONO thats just me being ignorant i saw the white at the edges and couldnt figure out what it was on my monitor.

Nice interior btw the way the television is mounted is very original very very nice and i like it. Does it get in the way of any large passengers?

nope, i do have to tell ppl to watch their legs when they close the door cause it protrudes some, but once the doors shut, its not a problem at all

Hey, I’m in GA and have some tan leather seats. They look really good in a stock interior. I painted all my interior black and blue. What other tan parts, or other color parts do you need? I have access to a couple of eclipses to get parts. Let me know.

I would love those seats, are they just the front ones? PM me with info when you have some time and i'll talk to you about them i'm really interested, also what other color parts do you have? I could start by replacing or just ripping naything that isnt just straight tan or black out but if i see what you have i might try to do more.
