Ok I tuck my grill off my 1990 TSI since it's just siting there wateing on some frame correction  and a new radiator.

I have been wanting to do something about the nasty grill the black plastic mesh had white specks all on it from the last da that painted it.

So I take it off tape up the Eagle and mesh and give it a fresh coat of krylon.. lookin mighty sharp by then.. well only one problem.. i should have painted the mesh black first.. now it will be a HUGE PIA to paint it black and not ruin the new white paint... soooo I could just cut out the mesh with a dremel... or do you think i should spend a crap load of time painting the mesh?

Or maybe cuting out the plastic mesh and puting some real metal mesh in?

Check out my site, I cut out the black mesh and added aluminum mesh.
If oyur wanting to paint it I suggest take the long way and tape everywhere alse off.

Thanks dude! you just conviced me. Im cuting it.

BTW where did you get the mesh? Hardware store? and what type/use?

*EDIT* also where did you get that antana? becouse Im either going to go with an internal or something like that. Or shorter.

Well the mesh can be found ay most any auto accesory store, The amount of mesh I used in the pic costed about $39 can. asfor the entenna, Canadian tire, Im sure walmart has replacements to. Alot cheaper then going to an auto store for basically the samething

I noticed there are two ways you can go about cuting out the plastic mesh. stright forward or attack it from the side to get the full girth of it all.

Which did you do? Also how did you get the corners? I dont have one of the bits that lets you cut to the side you know the drill bit looking ones.. (need to get one) But then I need a new dremel for that matter this one is as old as me.

This is what I have so far. It just needs one more coat around the edge's and the mesh put in. :)

Thanks... (pay no attention to the sword laying next to it  )

Yea I just need some 1500grit sand paper or a few more coats where that step is to smooth things out then put in the mesh and back on the car :)
