Edmonton,
First off, I'm not pointing fingers. It might work fine for some people and not others.

This is the artical I am posting about
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80381

I did everything that was written in the artical and preheated my oven to 350 degrees and left the lights in for 5 min. What I would recomend doing is put the lights in at 300 degrees and see if that is enough first. If not, let the lights coold fully then try doing it for 5 min later.

Again, not pointing fingers, just a warning to all. It was a costly artical to follow for me and I don't want it to happen to anyone else.

Here is the aftermath of 5 min at 350 degrees.

your milage may very :)
sorry bout yer luck. all tho' i think the concept is valid and can + does work.

Home oven temperature controls are notoriously inaccurate. I've fried many a plastic project over the years.

varys from oven to oven, as well, some cant maintain stable temp.

thanks for being so good about it, not pointing fingers, etc.

things like that happen, like i expect to blow up my car every time i do something.

i get in, plug in new mod, then shout "woo woo" it didnt blow up.

dont mess with the oven. Go out and do yourself a favor and buy a heat gun. It the best way to do things and you are 100% sur to never break all your stuff.

Absolutely a heat gun is the way to go. And you might find some other uses for it around the garage beside doing the headlights. I have used the heat gun to take my headlights apart and my tail light center peice when carbonizing it and had no problems.
Damn that is a shame it happened to ya', sorry to see that. :(
