Ok I installed everything in my car, accept for the power wire to my amp... I am stumped on where the hell to run the cable throught the firewall... does anyone have any good ideas. Because I couldn't find anything... let me know thanks.

On the passenger side of my 97 talon there is a rubber grommet with a bundle of wires going through it. I poked through with an average gauge power cable and it works fine.

Yup, just look for where the wire harness passes through on the passenger side. Run your power wire though there, behind the kick panels, under the center console, under the carpet and backseat. Its pretty simple. Good luck with the install.

Thanks, I looked all over the front firewall for awhile... I must be blind or something :D But thanks, now I can get my subs in today :D

ok I give up... I found a bunch of wires and loom and put my stereo wire in and I fed it almost all in and I didn't find it under my dash... so I pulled the rubber out and find it's for the whipers... where am I looking? Does anyone have a picture, that'd be very useful.... because I wanna get a tach in soon as well... Thanks.

ok man, go in the passenger door and look under the dash, closer to the center or the car. you should see a retangular piece of rubber. on my car it wasn't being used, but it might be for a shift linkage on a manual. anyway, you can cut a small hole in it(smaller than you wire), and feed a fish tape or hangar through the hole from the inside, because that's easier. then tape your power wire to in from the outside, and feed it through. keeping the hole small will keep you from having to seal around the wire. but if the hole is too big, just go around it with silicone.

hope that helps :thumb: :dsm:

another alternative is to run it under the car with electircal conduit. I have 2 0 gauge wires and that was the easiest way and no lumps in the carpet, just make sure and use wire groments when u bring it back in to the car. I brought mine back in threw the spair tire well it just worked out good that way

i never thought of that. do you worry about the water getting in or rodent eating the wire? they love the taste of it

The conduit seals it agains the elements... use grommets to bring it back into the car though. I personally don't trust running wires under my car though, so I drilled out a big hole in the firewall which was not an easy task, took forever, slowly working up the size of my bit not to mention a borrowed drill that made the lights dim in my garage when I used it... but it does fit 0/1 gauge wires.

I finally got it... actually was very easy! I took my pocket knife and stabbed the boot under the passenger side, and then I took a coat hanger and tapped my power wiring to the side of it pushed the coat hanger into the hole it came out in my engine bay, I grabbed it and pulled it up with my hands and then the wire was there... then ran the rest behind the kick panels down the middle console and under the rear carpet. then the rear seats! Hell was so easy. :D All you guys that drill... don't... the boot under the passenger side has enough room for huge wire. Thanks all for you help though.

there will bee some condesation in side the conduit, its not all that big of a deal it just discolors the casing around the wire. I dont worry to much about mice or any thing, my car has been in the garadge since last nov. up on jack stands and nothing has eaten the wires.
