It’s not huge but there are a couple cubic feet of discrete storage space under your top bag. If you pop out the trim panel connectors along the sides at the back of the trunk, the top of the panel has four or five plastic snaps that will hold the panel in place. You can stash your booster cables, tool kit, Armorall wipes or whatever in there.

You can also access this area by removing the upper part of the back seat cushion. You can actually keep the 2 bolts that hold it in place at the bottom out and just use the hooks on the top portion...easy access. I've hid many-a-things in there. ;)

I hope to throw a custom sub box into that area. If done properly I should be able to get a couple of 12s or possibly three 10s. Hard to say how it will work out because I have to leave room for the air ride tank!

Say What? Are you forgetting that your top takes up the majority of that area when down or are you talking about somewhere else?

Actually the top only takes about half of the space. You have to work around some cross-bar supports to stuff things in there and I do recommend loading it with the top down so you don't take up space needed to stow the top. It keeps the minimal trunk space tidy and available for other things.

I am not expecting to shove all of that in there. Just one or the other. I am guessing that the subs will be an easier fit than the air tank. As long as I build to utilize the full width of that compartment I should be able to get the air space needed for the subs and keep plenty of clearance for when the top is down. Only time will tell...

I use the trunk of my spyder for the air ride components, and I use the hidden space for 2 10' subs. Its pretty tight fit..but I have a stock backseat, no one is any the wiser to any of it!

How do you like the way it sounds? Enclosed or ported box?

Guys I Just saw this bump, and now I'm curious. Are they talking about the leather spot the top folds into, or actually putting things in the top?

When I relocate my battery to the rear its going to be put under there.

What about the hidden storage under the side panels that can be accessed by taking the seat cushion out.

I'm already started on this. My battery box is a bit on the large side, but it fits just fine:D

The space you don't see under the top when it's folded down:thumb:

Post pictures of the sub installs please. I'm getting ready to build my box tomorrow. Mocked up a cardboard box tonight to figure out how much room I had to play with.

I tried putting 2 small 8" subs in there and it sounded like shit. I ended up just building an amp rack and slid in in there. I moved the 8's to the trunk so I can use a bigger box and more air flow. Sounds way better.

My brother used it to store two 10" subs back in the day. Had a custom box made and it sounded pretty good. I'm not a fan of subs but it's a good use of empty space I'll probably store some tools in there.

My amp, power inverter and sub all fit in there nicely. The Box measures 7"x13"x16" with .5" MDF, holding a Kicker Comp 10" woofer. It comes out to .625 cu/ft. so I used some filler. I had it in a .75 cu/ft box while in the trunk and it sounded great.
