I just recieved a carbon fiber hood I purchased from a local dealer. I cant remember if the brand name was either R1 or N1....one of the two..something 1. Anyways, I haven't put it on yet, as my front end is kinda bent from sliding underneath someone. Caused my old hood to bow, and my latch to move back just a ttaaaddd little bit. So, I'm letting the paint shop straighten it back out for me. Anyways, the question is..Does this brand of hood fit good? I'm hoping so. I've seen a few hoods that were a bit to small...or bit to high...etc I don't know if it was from unproper alignment, or just a bad hood. I know VIS is a great supplier, but the local shop claimed VIS gets some of their hoods and such from other people from time to time, and R1/N1 is one of those groups....Hood only cost about $400..not to bad. The CF is real, it has the 3D affect.

What's up with that molded thick fiberish feeling on the inside of the hood? it feels literally like plastic.....really weird. Figured I'd try to shape the inside of it a bit and eventually paint it black and clear coat it so it looks more natural and neat.

Any comments, suggestions??

Carbon fiber parts are plastic, just reinforced plastic.

Carbon fiber reinforced plastic. Hence the term composite. It's a composite of carbon and plastic.
