does anyone know where i can ket a small reverse camera? i want one that will fi where the keyhole is for the trunk on a 2g eclipse

Web cams have a USB output that wouldn't do you much good.X-10 only works on home electrical(AC) wiring.Any CCD Camera with a NTSC composite output will work. You can get them real cheap these days.Just type CCD camera in a search engine.Just make sure it has a composite output, and it will plug right in to any monitor.

You dont want to use an X 10 cam through a laptop. I can get you the same one that I have that I run on my car. It just needs 12V and it has an RCA output so you can plug it into your signal distribution or your TV direct.

Let me know.

3 of the 4 accidents i got in where shit i couldent see when backin up (one was a poor kitty) :( and now that i got a car i am 5k in debt for i dont want a blemish on it LOL.. my 1000$ pos cars i could of gave a shit about

My car is a show car. It doesnt really get out on the road that much. I run the camera for the TV in my trunk but can switch it to any of the other TV's in the car.

It is just something quick and easy to throw in to get some extra wow factor at the car shows.

I have seen people spend alot of time looking at it and just be amazed for some reason.

For my car it does not have a practical purpose.

Just a note... unles you have TV that can reverse the image.... you will be looking at things exactly the opposite of how they occur. Just wanted to make sure that you were aware of that.

Thanks,

Michael

Here is a shot of the TV and then the camera is stuck down in the key hole.

Do you need a TV too? Do you have video switching capability and also 17' video cables? You will need some or all of the above if you do not have them.

Let me know.

lil bit of everywhere LOL around rochester i live in west bloomfield but spend my time in geneseo

I guess the next question to ask is... where do you want to go with this. I have some ideas for some inexpensive solutions and then it can be pretty much the sky is the limit

1. Where will you mount the TV?

2. How big of a TV do you want?

3. Are you going to have to work a custom mount?

4. Are you going to ever run more than the one TV?

5. Do you want just the back up camera or do you want to do video games ... DVD etc?

6. Are you planning on upgrading your sound system soon?

7. How much do you want to spend?

8. Are you able to install this stuff yourself?

9. Are you going to want to upgrade your security once you start cramming Etronics in there?

10. What are your plans for your build - are you just simply looking to look behind you or are you going to get into AV pretty heavy?

11. How important is picture quality.

These questions arent just for you though. I would say that they are general questions that anyone who is looking to do this kind of thing should consider before spending the first dollar or... as is so often the case- they will be buying more than they need.

Hopefully when you can answer those questions and feel confident about your answers we will design you something that will meet and exceed your needs. Let me know if I can help.

ok yes to all ur things but for the reverse is my first goal.. i want to get one of the rear view wid the tv in it. all the other shit will be later down the road. cause right now $$ is a issue :shhh: but if u chould jsut price me on how much the cam and wireing will cost me it would be great (my dad owns a dealership so i got a body shop and mechanic for free)

That's a good point, I've installed a few of them, and I never thought about that. But they are more for show ,than any practical purpose.Anyway try www.supercircuits.com
