Clear coat rotors?

Can I sand off all the rust and clear coat my rotors where the wheel attaches (not where the breaks touch the rotors) so it won't rust again? Or do I have to paint it then clear coat it? I just want the metal look and not paint it if I don't have too. Thanks.

brake rotors get very hot

spray it with some 1200 degree farenheit bbq paint
dont even have to sand, itll stick good to rust

I did mine with 500 degree angine block paint from dupli color. It has lookde good for the last 2 years now.

They also sell 500 degree clear also.

They do make a high-temp clear...which you could use. I did mine in dark grey 500 degree paint and it lasted for about 6 months, but burned up and flaked after I drove from NC to FL. I would recommend the 1200 degree paint....it's less than a $1 more, so why not. Better to be safe than sorry.
