I saw this tourists eclipse in my hometown and the hood was a clear red, with NIICE parts inside (of course LOL) Ive been trying to find that same hood. has anyone seen clear hoods for the eclipse?

LOL... true, that sounds like a very stupid idea unless you have all of your aftermarket parts insured...

Well, there is a reason these are show hoods only and illegal for normal street use. There used to be a company in CA (can't remember website) that sold these for every car they could get a mold for. They were made of plexiglass and the tint was pretty cool. From a distance it looked like a normal hood till you got about 5 feet away and the color disappeared (very cool IMO). APC makes them now and they're crap.

My opinion, not that it matters. I wouldn't so much be worried about people jacking your stuff because a) most people don't know what those parts are on a 4G63 and b) to us DSMers, it doesn't take a clear hood to know what's under the hood of a 4G63.

Also, I think that hood would prove funtional for a day, maybe two at the most due the to the extreme heat and exhaust gases our motors put off. So, after a few days you would be the proud owner for a 'smoke' colored hood :D

As for show ONLY cars, that would be a good idea .. just take it off before you turn it on....

My .02 cents.

looks stupid. Spend your money on better things. Like a Turbo, or hard ic pipes, boost controller, the list is endless.

The term euro hood was due to the orignal manufacture of the item. For street use, HELL NO. think a cheap carbon fibver hood flexs on the freeway try this piece. The reason why you would want one of these, are for SHOW vehicles. think you are at a show., instead of popping you hood to let the kids walk off with your greddy oil cap or someting like that, and to prevent people from messing with lets say a halman boost controller, or cutting the line to your external WG (happended to my frined, than god he runs C12 all the time. 28 PSI on pump pee would not be good) but with this hood they can see the goodies and still not get there grubbies all over it.

By the way these things scratch with a towel, the first rock would have to be another 600 for a new one. Use the 600 you have around for a exhaust.

yea it's pretty cool for the novelty.but seriously, do you want to ride around and expose the setup you have? not for speed purpose but for STEALING purposes?

its like saying " here's my new PTE 50 trim, tubular exhaust manifold. tial BOV ,... and it's yours!" LOL

Theres now way I would put that kinda crap on my car. :thumbdown Not to mention that the car that they used is one of the ugliest dsm's that I have ever seen :talon:

My friend has a clear hood for his supra that he puts on only for car shows... then after the show he puts his cf hood back on so no one know's what he's running and tries to steal anything

They are illegal to have on your car if you are driving it on the streets... they shatter on impact, they are only for show...
