I have a rs eclipse and was wondering how to convert to a power antenna.Their are new power antennas on ebay for 35.00 but do i need anything else and how would i hook it up to work right?

It's a nuisance to take off/put on the mast for car washes and when using a car cover.

I don't know if the RS has the same harness as the rest, but the GSX has one stock. The blue wire off the back of the radio is the power antenna signal, then you need constant 12V and ground at the motor as well.

Everytime my antenna goes up it makes a weird, loud buzzing sound for like a min. It goes up fine and the radio works fine, but I hardly ever wanna turn it on cuz of the damn ruckus caused by the antenna. Not to get too off topic but is there any easy way to fix this?

Because in my opinion it looks tacky to have a black antenna that sticks up 24/7.Im have a 97-99 turbo spoiler put on but dont no if i should shave the antenna hole or not because i heard those hidden antennas get bad reception thats why i wanted a power so it can go down and not be as noticable.

i shaved mine and went with XM. the antenna was a pos. bad reception, that is when it came up, but most of the time it would just stay down, or come up about half way and make an appearance just to go back down 5 minutes later for no reason. take my advise and just shave the damn thing off.

If it's the antenna drive, yes. A new mast with a new gear rack in it will fix it, if that's the trouble. Hard to see by email, though, and a dog to hear.
