Does anyone have the 2G dash bezel for 2 gauges as sold at:

If so, how do you like it, esp. compared to pillar mounted? Is running the themocouple or vacuum line a problem with the dash? Does it block any of the stock gauges? Is it really that necessary to have the gauges at eye level like on a pillar? I'd like to reduce the attention factor that pillar mounted may have.

Any suggestions on what to go with a 97 dash? I'm thinking VDO cockpit black or vision series, they seem like a good match for the 97. Any *real* need to go with peak or non-mechanical gauges? I want to install 2 gauges - boost and EGT.

Thanks.

I have that guage pod.. and the A-pillar as well.. you can check out my gallery for pics. Mine is the one made by Autometer.

I installed the VDO EGT and VDO Volt in my 2G Dash bezel... the EGT I had to cut a little bit of the acrylic that covers the Tach/spedo but you can't see it... other than that, it fit like a glove.. I would imaging the boost would fit fine too.

I really like mine, with the black guages, orange needle and orange backlight they look like they were meant to be there stock..

They only cover a little bit of the crappy stock boost guage and a tiny bit of the temperature guage.. but they are still visible.

That's a cool set-up. Just the stock look I'm looking for. Which VDO gauges are these? The Cockpit black or Vision? The backlight matches the stock gauges on either?

Yeah, it's a bummer you have to trim the back of at least one of the gauges. I wonder if the EGT is shallower than the boost gauge and you can swap them?

Btw - I notice you have the nice boost gauge on your pillar. How do you like using metric units v. standard?

Thanks.

They are the VDO vision gauges... There really wasn't that much trimming to do. The prong where one of the wires attaches to the back of the gauge was getting in the way.. so instead of having the gauge stick out, I just cut a small hole so that it would sit flat in the cup.

The Bezel replacement covered it all up so that you don't even know that it is there.
