Hey i was wondering if anyone has ever seen a bike rack on a 2g, if you have, tell me if it looks ### or post pics or something...

Reason is, im moving to collage and i really cant carry my mountain bike/bmx bike with me, i was actually thinking of yakima racks, i found they do make them for my car, and it eliminates the use of the sunroof but i dont care. I would only use the rack when going too and from collage to home here, since im moving to a place about 250 miles away...

Opinions anyone?

Just take the wheels off, fold down the back seat, and roll. You're gonna need to make more than one trip anyway so might as well not have to buy a bike rack...or if you have one, put it on there.

Tom

I've seen it done. There's a white 95-96 eclipse around here with one. Doesn't look all that bad...kinda sporty. I'm not a big fan of bike racks in the first place though. I wouldn't worry about looks too much...especially if you're only going to be using it for special occasions.

Ive seen only 1G's with bike racks, There is one around my town, a Laser, and its a pretty huge rack. I ride BMX too, and what i do is just fold down the rear seats and pop my bike in there when i go to the trails or a park. But if you go with a rack, make sure it is de-tachable, ive seen ones that it ruined the car b/c it couldnt come off.

Matt get a rack, they add 50 whp. Make sure it says Yakima really big, that gives another 10whp. You will get to college so fast that you can make a collage!

MATT STOP, before you go and put an ugly bike rack on youre roof and read this first.
I live close to the beach and sometimes go bick ridding, I have a 97 gst spyder eclipse. I bought a bike rack that attaches to the rear of the car, very easy to install and un install, it lays up against the back bumper bottm and hooks to the end of the trunk (the end closest to the front) and the bottom bumper. It also works on a hatch back, i used it once on a ford probe, so im sure it will work with youre car.
Very easy to install and uninstall when youre not using it. Go to Big 5 or even k-mart or whtatever sports store near you, they should have them.

p.s. I didnt know we were getting graded on our writting, I hope I passed :|

Damn it............ I hope I still pass.
Is that a complete sentence?
ohh no there fragments.

I should have cut and past from word. Ohh well. :p

you can fit a bike in the back if you fold the seats down. I had my seats out and had his bike in my car. Guess that makes the Eclipse a Sports Utility vehicle eh?

Never seen a roof rack on a 2G, that may look weird

Go with Miguel's idea. That sounds better than a roof rack, and he has experience with the product and gives it a good review...

jesus guys sorry i jsust graduatied and cant spell very well and if you cant tell i never use punctuation.

Anyways, about the damn bike rack, i dont care how bad it looks its gonna be used for a 250 mile trip every time i go from seattle to yakima, so i dont care about looks, not like im gonna keep it on there?

You can fit three bikes on that rack im telling you about, I cant fold my seats down and fit the bike in the back because of the convertable option I choose but if you get it you will have alot more room for more stuff or people and Im willing to bet its cheaper.
Bluelaser you had me rolling on the floor laughing.

the yakima brand is pretty hip around here cause i am from yakima, you know

I always wondered how that would look also...I wouldn't want a dirty ass bike in the back of my car.The rear rack option is great for a spyder but how would that work with the turbo wing?
