I was also wondering if the foam comes off when you remove the headliner. For example, If I were to follow the procedure above to remove my headliner (for painting or new headliner installation) would the foam come off with it, and could I reinstall the old liner without needing to reglue?

the foam should come off but with it being so old it is prob. all dried out and in a powder type form to get it of what the easest way to get it done is pull the fabric of and get a broom and sweep all the old foam off til clean. as for painting it that might not be a great idea under the old liner is the fiberglass frame if you painted that i don't think it would look that good. but you can find headliner material at olmost any foam( as in foam that u use in furniture) store just call and ask and a can of 3m spray adhesive in an aresol can the head liner fabric is not hard to put on just make sure it is measured out good and that u put enough glue but not to much - its not hard i do them all the time and it is cheaper to do your self

you have to remove the A & B pillars, the sun visors, and if you have a sun roof, take of the vinyl frame and handle, then the only thing keeping it up, are the plastic clips.

How do you remove the A and B pillars? Do I have to take out the back seat and remove the rear quarter-panel kick trim just to get to the pillar trim? I tried to remove it but there is just one clip and one screw where the hanger clip is (this is all on a 1g).

So how do I get the dumb pillar trim off?

i've taken EVERY plastic panel out of my car. and successfully put them back.

A pillar: pull it out. it has clips and velcro
B pillar: 1 screw, then 4 clips. just pull it out after you remove the screw

if you need directions on anything else, just let me know.

A pillar is in front, long and thin one connected to the windshield
B pillar is the middle one, behind the door.

Thanks.

I bought some black cloth color, and I am going to change my headliner to black, then I will do the dome light cover and sunvisors in blue to match my interior. I will post pics when it's all done.
