it is illegal in all 50 states for remote start on amanual!!!

i would tell you what would happen if you were drunk and forgot to take it out of gear in a parking lot but hopefully i wont have to...

this will not prevent your car from being broken into, but i just take the safc down to -50% at 1K before i go in the house. it will never start like that:thumb:

or you can just unplug the afc from it's harness where it then plugs into the ecu. i took off mine before i dropped it off at the bodyshop and forgot about it. car never would stay running and if i did get it to run, it wouldn't go past 4,000 rpm's. just another idea.
later

really!? In Canada, I had a standard with a car starter. It had alignment lasers on the stick shift, so that it knew when the car was in neutral, or not. That way, it was impossible to accidentally start it while in gear.

Who told you it is against the law to have one on a manual? I have a compustar in my 5 speed they are designed for sticks. You would have to be realy talented to be able to get out of your car when it is running and still have it in gear. You have to leave your car running, take tour key out of the ignition (car stays running) and when you close the door the car shuts off (unless you have the turbo timer option set like me).If you dont do this the car will not remote start.Hope this helps.:thumb:

Car alarms do nothing to stop a real car theaf, get something like these locking devices i have seen that you put on your clutch or gas pedel, it's made from carbon steel so you can't realy cut it and uses a lazer cut key so you can't pick it.. it locks the pedels in place so even if they start your car they can't go anywhere.

OR you can just remove the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributer cap, gas, clutch and break pedels, battery and ECU..AND NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE will EVER steal your car.

that is very true. it wont stop a real pro thief. i have an alarm because i know my car attracts attention, and i want it to be protected. but i dont think anyone would know how to steal it around here.

has anyone actually started their car in gear before? i've never shut the car off without it in neutral

Leaving a parked car running in Washington is illegal. So remote starting apparati are not 50 state legal...
