inside rear view mirror

I have wiggled, pried and everything to try to get the inside rear view mirror(one mounted to windshield) off. How is it attached to the base and how does one remove it?

yank really really hard...thats how mine on my acura came off

I don't want to unglue it if possible. I thought there would be a set screw or something somewhere...

There's a little bastard clip inside the mount- the manual's not really clear, but look for a hole I think on the bottom of the bracket. Says to insert a narrow flat-tip screwdriver into the slit, keeping the spring pushed in, then slide the mirror toward the roof.
More proof it's not a ### car, with a nice, simple setscrew.
