I was just wondering if anyone ever took the bottom part off a 90-91 talon and grafted it onto the top part of a 92-94 talon nose...
so it looks like this>

what do you think? I got an extra laser bumper for the top part, and I think I may have found a cheap bottom part for an early talon...

hmmm....on your front end, does it look like its possible to fill in those 2 gaps between the headlights? maybe that would be an easier route.. I prefer the smooth nose

Judging by some of aftermarket stuff with pointy chins and ducts that do nothing, I think it'd look interesting. How would you go about getting them to join, how would you get it to stick and not crack?

well, I was going to cut the first bumper's (from the 1992 laser) "mouth" out completely, basically remove everything below and just leave the outer edges where it bolts up to the car, and of course the top section. Then, I was going to trim off all edges, bolt trim etc.. off the 90-91 bottom peice, so its basically just the top skin. The plastic looks thin, about 1/8 inch thick, maybe less, anyways, Id have to drill small holes on the top skin, then use a countersink bit to dimple the area around the hole, being careful not too take off too much material, then I have to use extra thin aviation style rivets to hold them together. Also, Id have to remove material on the top section where the lower section will overlap, so its slightly recessed, and finally, the "fun" stuff, fill the dimpled area over the rivets with flexible bondo, and bondo over the line where they meet, and of course, sand, sand, primer, sand sand, sand.......
I worked in a body shop for a few summers, and I did a lot of "frankenstein" projects like this, mostly it was plastic to metal, I never did plastic to plastic, so Im not sure how it'll turn out.
Maybe Ill just try and round up a front end off a 1992-1994 eclipse and just fill in the center section between the headlights so its smoother...I want a custom front end, that can fit a FMIC with ease, but one that looks like it came from the factory, not tacky like the aftermarket ones.

coool, thanks rubberside...the only problem is that we didnt get eclipses in canada untill 1998....hmmm, wanna sell me your front clip? LOL
