I've heard it's possible but not done it myself - can I remove the gauge cluster without removing the steering wheel? My Chilton's book says I have to remove the steering wheel to get the gauges out but yet I found a website that the guy didn't say anything about that.

i think it would be easier to just remove the steering wheel to get it out of the way. it will give more working space. i don't think it is a NEED to do thing.

though, i have never done it, so maybe someone else can shed some light on this topic.

absolutely not. Ignore the part about the steering wheel. Thats more work than its worth. just take out the bezel/gauge ring, or whatever you call it, it goes around the cluster, and then the entire cluster comes out like a big plug. no wires to mix up either.

heres a good site to help you
