Clutch and Brake Pads

Went to the stealership and got myself some clutch and brake pads for my talon. Upon closer inspection I noticed on both that it seems it was half glazed over or something. Is this something to help the wear down or did I just get a bad batch of parts? Anyone who has got these new please let me know.

Well if you went to the dealership to purchase them, you probably either got some old ones that have sitting on the shelf. (keeping in mind that our cars are 20 years old) I wouldn't worry about it, and no I highly doubt that Mitsubishi would try to put something on a part to make it ware faster.

I meant I thought this "glaze" was something to prevent these from wearing down so fast haha.

Were there part number stickers on them or were they in plastic bags?

They were in a plastic bag

never heard of a glaze on petal rubber but I always liked the "grip" strip better than the rubber.

Went back to the dealer and they ordered "new" ones I know they are only 3.84 a piece but i'm not the kind to give my money away for parts that are already half deteriorated. Will post pic of hopefully 2 good pads soon.

Other pads were the exact same way...so for the detail oriented people like me buy them somewhere other than the dealership

I got a set 2 years ago and they were in the same condition as the ones you got

go to you local advance, napa ect... and take the ones you got from dealer and see if they have the same set and see what they look like.
