Hey Tuners,

I'm in the market for a pair of BLACK LEATHER RACING SEATS and I'm curious to know what brand's you're using, fitment and customization, or experiance buying and dealing with online vendors (who and where).

A couple pre-requisites; reclinable and REAL leather. Heated would be nice (aka. RSX Type-S seats but unsure if anyone has attempted this).

I know a lot of you use the evo recaro's, but the only one that appeals to me is the evo x and they're too tall.

Thanks :thumb:

Sparco milano leather seats will work, but that's like $3000 for the two seats.

I know Andy's Auto Sport has a large selection.

95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Racing Seats at Andy's Auto Sport

As for reclinable, it's all in personal preference. A lot of seats can and a lot of seats can't. Heated? I've never seen an aftermarket heated RACING seat, but then again I've never looked for one. I really love the stock seats, because they're so comfortable, but I hit my head on the ceiling whenever I go over a speed bump.

Recaros are very nice, but very pricey. You get what you pay for, basically, but the other side of that argument is that you should pay whatever price gets you something that fits YOU, not others.

Good luck.

Thanks you guys! :)

Very helpful! and I'd say my budget is UP TO $2,000. But I would pay more if it's a DIRECT BOLT IN! Which is unlikely.

I'm looking for a "forever" seat :p and I'm not a tall guy, 5ft7" in fact. So that being said, adjustability is key!

Don't forget that you will require side brackets/bottom brackets, sliders, and seat bracket frames for each seat, so budget in another $500-600 for that.

It's not cheap either way.

I don't know of any heated seat available for our car.

A quality leather/reclinable sport/race seat will cost between $1200-1600 per seat not including bracketry or sliders.

Cobra Misano, Cobra Sidewinder, Sparco R700P, Corbeau A4, Corbeau TRS, Sparco Milano Prestige, Sparco Milano 2 are a few options to look at.

Check out Corbeau, awesome quality and very affordable comapred to Sparco and Bride. Also they make custom brackets and sliders for every make and model. Our's cost 99$ a per side and that's with the sliders included.

I've owned two different models and have never had an issue with either of them, just keep changing my mind and going to a new seat.

Maybe find a used stock set of Evo 9 leather Recaros for around $600.

Those RSX seats look really good. They just seem a bit... oversized. Maybe it's just the picture or it's just me but they seem really big in a DSM.

Wish I had a budget of 2k for something my ass would touch.. ha.
As for heated... I own a 2011 Dodge avenger that has black leather with red/black overlay details, that are heated. My buns get nice n toasty pretty darn quick. They are rather comfy too

I love my Evo 8 SSL seats, I also wanted all black leather.

With custom rails to get them in the car, you could pick up a set for about $1k.

Hey, guys. I'm the one who put together the writeup for the black RSX seats in the 2G. If you're thinking about going with Sparco's vs. EVO's vs. RSX seats, I would advise for either the EVO's or RSX's. I've spent the obscene amount of money that Sparco wanted in the past for seats, and the RSX seats are 10 times better for the following reasons:

1. The Sparco material wore out quick. I used leather to replace some of the worn panels.

2. The Sparco material faded in just three years.

3. The brackets that Sparco uses are terrible. You're better off making your own.

4. The Sparco's sat WAY to high. I couldn't fit in the car with my helmet properly without putting the seat very far back.

5. The Sparco's were uncomfortable on long trips. I've gone 7+ hours in the RSX seats with no issues at all.

OP, I'm 5'10", and had no issues with the RSX seats at all. Being 5'7", you'll be fine as well, and very comfortable.

Enjoy!

- Matt
