Removing battery tie down stud


Is it possible to remove the battery tie down stud on the strut tower for 2gs? I tie my battery down a different way and would like remove the useless stud on the car.

The bottom of the stud has a hook that enters and catches on a hole, just loosen the bolt enoough so that it will un hook and remove it, Simple.

Oh, so I have to remove the strut first to get access to the bottom of the stud I'm guessing
