Ive been searching and not finding info on people converting a 1g interior to all l.e.d.s. If someone knows a thread please just redirect me but keep in mind im looking for a 1g interior(not a 2g). Im looking for info and pics for the whole interior not just the gauge cluster.

There are no links. You just have to be creative when it comes to the other interior lights, with blank LEDs. Hope you're good at soldering and math :)

I think if you go to superbrightleds.com you can look up on the Sylvania website what type of interior lights the 1G has. From there you can cross reference them on the website and get LED replacements with resisters built into them, that should be plug and play. I might (and probably am) be totally wrong here. Either way, let me know if you make any progress, because I want to do this as well.

Well i looked at the thread with the super bright red leds. Thats what made me want to convert all the interior lights because i like the was that second gen looked on the 4th page. I didnt think there was anything on the full interior on a 1g but i firgure id see if anyone would know.I think i might just slowly buy the bulbs and start switching one by one. If anyone else sees anything please let me know.

PNP LEDs are generally garbage.

OP, the threads in the how to section apply to the 2G but the concept is the same, it's really not too hard, you just have to get in there that's all.

Why would you consider them garbage? I was hopeing for something thats plug and play because i dont really wanna try to soder leds. I know its the same concept i was just wondering if someone has actually done the full interior on a 1g plus i was hoping for pictures if someone has.

Well so far ive cam across a few l.e.d.s. from superbrightleds.com I received a few for free and ordered 2 fr my dome lights. I was given some 194's wedge style bulbs that are blue and there not bad. There a pretty dark blue but put out good light for the color. The domes are cool white color and i really like them. They have a great tint to them and put out a pretty good amount of light. I was not able to take any pictures tonight since the camera was dead but hopefully within the next few night i will be able to post some pictures so people can see them.:thumb:

Or an electrical engineer like me. That stuff isnt too fun sometimes.LOL

i want to convert my interior lights to leds as well, the dome lights are the smaller festoon i believe and the gauge lights and misc button lights are #74 bulbs and the foot wells are 194's but i cant see shit with the little 194's im looking into a cold cathode tube for the foot wells its just a + and - hook up and you get a 194 dummy bulb with the wires coming out of it and hook it up ill see if it makes a big difference and ill post pics

I converted my cluster to LED's. However you will have to use red if your just going to plug in play as the orange film will look poor with blue Led's.

The LEDs are usually poor quality, not very bright and aren't resistored correctly so they don't last long.

Superbrightleds.com are well known for their high quality, yet cheap LED's. Club3g uses these for every bulb in the interior of the 3g's as well as many other cars.

For cold cathodes I can't give any more rep to anyone other than oznium.com. $15 gets your two 12" cold cathodes with a 1 year, no questions asked warranty. The cathodes are 3x as bright as my friends 20" street glow neons, and they don't dim when it's really cold. They're also the same diameter as a pencil so they're easy to hide.

The cluster LED swap is easy, the only thing is you want to remove the orange film from the back of the gauge faces before putting in any color other than red or orange, which is a PITA.

First off im going to say these pics dont do much justice. The only camera i have sucks. The first picture is of the dome light with some cool white bulbs and it also shows the stock bulbs to. The second one is of the foot wells with a stock bulb. The third is with a blue led. Imo the make a noticeable difference.

SERIOUSLY NO ONE has added that all you do is swap your old bulb for an LED bulb, just swap the 194 bulb for an "194 LED BULB" meaning the equivalent replacement in LED, easiest way is http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/LampReplacementGuide/ . and it will show you all bulb types and sizes your car uses, then go on ebay and type = " 1157 LED bulb" and bam!!!

remember if you swap your signal light bulbs for LED's then you need to tap the wires with this: Load Equalizer - Custom LED Universal Flasher Relay Load Equalizer (click on stage 2) to prevent that fast ricer feel flickering. or you can create your own with a resistor.

Hopefully this info is enough if you know how to replace bulbs.

Its been mentioned that the bulbs are from superbrightleds.com to which anyone that has looked can tell there direct replacements.

It loos way better. How many bulbs did it take? Also did you use 194's?

On those particular led's they don't go by numbers. I looked up the wedge type ones, but you have to get atleast the 360 degree led's or it won't fully light up your cluster.

Give us more info on the specific bulbs you used please.

Do u have a link or part number or something?
