I bought my car used and recently i was cleaning it out and discovered some wires. There are two coming from both rear speakers and what seems to be a power wire. I imagine that it is for an amplifier, but im not sure. I don't know much about amps and installation, can i just throw an amp in with just this setup? Would the amp just go to the rear speakers or could I put in a sub?

Thanks

usally the speaker wires coming from the rear speakers are for signal to the amp,if you are using a stock radio.

When I bought the car it had the original GS stereo. but design/buttons annoyed the shit out of me. So I upgraded to an aftermarket sony deck.

What do I need or go about amplifiing the rear speakers? Just throw an amp in? Or can I run the signal from the rears to feed an amp for a sub?

you need to run A remote wire, power, ground and RCAs from the headunit. Then throw an amp in...i wouldn't trust someone elses wiring
