Bling Blang
1) Aircraft remover
2) 800 gritt
3) 1240 gritt
4) optional finer gritt (depends on if you have a highspeed buffer)
5) Hit it with any amonia based metal polish with a buffer w/wool pad.....

The buffer has to be a nice heavy duty grinder type to get the results you want for a mirror. At least 4k rpm.

Get it so hot with the buffer and polish, then wipe it up with a rag and do it over till you like it.

CAUTION polishing metals can be very addictive. It may lead to things like....Polished outlet covers, door handles in the house and any thing that is aluminum or steel. (Dont even mess with steel. LOL )

Get new gaskets too, phil. dont RVT it!

thanks for the info tom!!
yeah, i plan on taking it to the auto hobby shop on base and doing it there...don't have a garage...but you can't beat $4 an hour for your own bay at the shop....plus ANY tools you may need....heh...military life has it's advantages i guess.

The lightning is ok but it seems to cheesy. Even though it cost a good amount to have done. I dont think it fits a car. Thats just me.

I love aluminum to much to powder coat it in any way. .LOL

Yea I had a fellow dsm member polich mine but it wasnt th best it could be it needs some touch up. Can you find all those materials you listed in a normal hardware store or am I gonna have to go looking for it. Also I'm switching my vc gasket and I was told to use sealant, why did you say not to use it.

im getting mine powdercoated red to match my intake and sanding the DOHC letters polished.

i'm thinking of doing somethign simmilar. Powder coat it blue ( to match my color theme) then pollish the lettering to a mirror finsih. also, does anyone know if you can powder coat a metalic color, or does it have to be a plain solid color?
