5 point harness help

has anyone used a racing harness i a 1g with the factory seats. trying to get rid of the factory stuff. if you have any pictures i would like to see them for ideas. thanks

I have on a 2G and I used the stock seatbelt points for the 2 lapbelts.

You can't use a harness with the stock 1G seats; there's nowhere for the shoulder straps to go.

You'll need some aftermarket seats.

i was thinking of using a y type harness and sliping it under the headrest that way both shoulder belts would go through the same place. think that would work? the after market seats are just not my thing.

I've never seen a 1g with an adjustable head rest on stock seats? They've all been a solid one piece unit. You could bring the stock seats to an interior detailer (look under boats canvases in yellow pages too) I've only gotten a quote for having my old 1g seats (front n rear) redone for $500. But I sold the car before it was done.

2G seats don't fit the 1G. And don't buy seats from Corbeau either unless you have someone else make the brackets (see my #^%$#^ wishlist).

guys ive got it whipped. got a harness in today. ill show pics soon. maybe everybody can get rid of stock crap. the harness slid under the headrest and worked fine all i have left is a place to bolt down to. ill be doing that tommarow.

I have corbeaus. My brackets just needed 1 hole drilled out a little more. No biggie. I dunno about 1G's tho.

Any good shop that works with interiors can do this fairly cheap.

or like I said.. above your post.. Buy Seat grommets
any moron can install them.

thanks man, finaly some good feedback. i thought i might do that same thing. did you weigh all the factory seat beat crap? im gonna love not hittin my head every time a get out.
