I decided I do not want to put money into big ass sumbwoofers and amps and all that, because of the weight, chance of being pulled over (I have 5 tickets, dont need another) and I would rather put that money elswhere.

Anyway I am not looking to bump (I dont want bass, just high quality sound) I want to be able to turn up the volume and have the sound quality remain crystal clear. (Stock speakers suck)

Whats the best possible speakers (I been told Alpine Rs) and everything I would need for a good settup? (I know nothing about car audio) About how much would it run me? And where can I get everything I need? I dont mind adding extra kick pannel speakers, or little crossovers, just nothing that weighs a ton (like a big amp or subwoofer)

Thanks audio guys!

awesome move man. subs and boxes add weight. i have a sony exploid headunit and polk speakers all around replacing the factory speakers. it sounds awesome and i really didnt even touch the custom settings. its a clean sound also. they are the good ploks, not the cheapies.

MB Quart all the way dude. the problem is that theyre more expensive than most speakers, but the quality definately makes up for them, and if ur not looking for speakers or subs youll have an edge there. expect to pay sumwhere between 500-2000 bucks for the whole set, depending on wut model u find and where u go look for it...
if ur not willing to pay that ridiculous amount of money for speakers, go for Boston Acoustic, best bang u can get for your buck rite there

So what about Alpine R? or Eclipse speakers. You guys got some links for specs and prices? I dont want to go ALL OUT I was thinking, the cleanest possible sound for under $500 The point is I want to put my money elswhere, not spend it all on my system. I just want good clean sound. I know I said cleanest possible, but I meant on a budget.

Check out www.onlinecarstereo.com excellent prices

MBQuart is known for winning lots of competitions for there sound. I have kenwood excelon components and they sound great, very loud and clear.

Actually if possible I'd like to keep the budget at $300, is that even do-able? Im not trying to win any competitions, just some nice high quality, clear sound.

IMAGE DYNAMICS.i got all ID interior speakers with 2 twwets in the dash and 2 in the holes in the panels next to the rear seats where the round plug is and it is very clear and loud.highs hurt my ears.i did it all for about $300.speakers were a good price.but to put them in the back you have to get 2 sheets of abs black plastic and cut them to fit the 6x9 speaker mount to fit a 6 1/2.id only makes round speakers.

I would recommend, Dyn Audios, CDTs, Rainbows, Focal, or if you got the money, the Boston Accoustics Z series. I heard the Z series at CES 2003 in a Ford Escape, and it was very clean sounding. No harsh tweeters (which a lot of other manufacturer speakers seem to do), beautiful mids, and just very neutral for the Z series. But like with any speakers, a good installation is half the story. The greatest speakers and a sorry install, and it will sound like crap.

lot of you guys seem to really like those mb quarts, you must love harsh tweeters. also better check to see what the guys that are running mb quart have for tweeters, you might be suprised they do have great mids and sub though. the alpine set soundd great. I heard the 6.5 set in a set of qlogic kick pannels in a 2g unbelivable. I was humbled and I have a three way diamond audio hex set. image dynamics are great, might be good to check for blow outs on them, dont plan on having a warenty with them for very long. things arnt looking so good for the company, its too bad the had some great stuff too.

This is really quite simple. Go and get yourself a pair of Crystal Audio 6.5" components with a 1" dome tweeter for the front. Then grab a pair of regualr ole 6x9's for the rear. Considering stereo sound is left to right not front to back, take care of your front speakers first, and get okay speakers for the rear. Because you wont hear them that much anyway.

Later.

Well.. ill give u my honest opinion.. i had MB quartz but the werent even close to Top of the line Infinity's.. Sure infinity's are expensive.. but big deal.. if u want the best quality sound and all around good music.. fo sho go with the Infinity's man.. They blow MB outta hte water..
Thanks
Peace :dsm:

the thing is that if u get those infinities, mb quarts, focals, or any of those high quality speakers, its an injustice NOT to run it thru an amp. straight thru the head unit will only let it go so far, and up to there alot of them will sound alike. the big difference comes when u run it thru the amp.

you guys got some more links for me, or exact speakers and everything to get, and a list of how much each option costs?

Someone wanan throw a whole guide togeher of their recomendation, how much it is, and the best place to get it?

Your effort would be greatly appreciated

that is so true. if you got the money and want clarity, get one of the mentioned speakers. but run an amp to it. doesn't weigh that much and it will you giive you some nice ass sounds.if your gonna waste that much money on something like that do it all the way. my 2 cents.;)

deffintaly get a 4 channel amp! any head unit wont be able to put out more then 25 watts rms no matter how much they claim! a nice amp with decent speakers in a well designed enclosure will kick anythings ass run off the deck!

I had the very highest end Quarts in my Legend and I must say that their titanium tweets are just way too damn harsh for my tastes. I would get Focal or Diamond if I was gonna do another high end audio setup.
