ebay short shifter

ok so i just hooked up an ebay short shifter in my 91 talon and im not very happy with it. it took quite abit of customizing to make it fit and after finally done the height is no different and i really dont see any difference in throw. along with everything else i still have shaft play. any ideas of how to get rid of the shaft play?

I'm guessing by shaft play you're talking about the extra movement of the shifter while its in gear. If so put new bushings in it and you should be good.

The shifter shouldnt have much to do with any kind of play in the shifter. You could try a symborski shifter kit :Slowboy Racing, Inc. :: DSM :: Drivetrain :: Short Shifters :: SBR Shifter Accesories :: Symborski Shifter Kit

sorry what i meant by shaft play was the extra movement while in gear. and i deffinetely know that when it comes to ebay, you get what you pay for. i bought a b&m copy from ebay for my 2g and it is awsome! so i figured another copy shifter would do fine. but i really see nothing better in it...

The correct part should have just slipped into place. Your "customizing" may be the trouble.
