Is anyone interested in a carbon fiber turbo spoiler?

I am trying to see how many people are interested before I go through with this.

So if your interested just chime in on this thread :)

Thats crazy, I was thinking this the other day. I Would Love a REAL carbon fiber, hi-rise turbo spoiler but had never seen it done so assumed it didn't exist. Wouldn't this be hella expensive? This is exactly what I want though. I love the look of the stock turbo hi-rise, but want to look different than stock, and lighter is obviously better too.

More Info PLEASE

I really won't have anymore info on the spoiler yet. I just need to get a minimum of 10 people interested, before anything really happens. When I do, I can keep everyone updated.

I was talking to GSXTCY about it. And he said we need a minimum of 10 people to avoid the molding costs. I am also talking to a local CF builder.

I am not sure how much a price is going to be, maybe GSXTCY can add to this. I'm hoping the price will be around $200. That wouldn't be too bad, since stock spoilers on the trader go for around $125+.

It will pretty much look like the regular turbo high spoiler except in carbon fiber. So try and imagine that :) Since we won't have a finished product for awhile. More for looks then anything else.

If your interested, just add your name to the list. To make everything more organized.

I forget right now, but what is the weight of the stock spoiler?

I'd rather see something like a carbon fiber rear hatch, or fiberglass doors for the 2G's.

The stock high wing just doesn't have enough adjustability (read: None at all) or function to make it worth the cost over one of the carbon fiber wings made by people like C-West, AB Flug, etc.

I guess it would look sort of cool, but, meh.

oooooooooohhhhh ooooooooooooohhhhh where can I get the wings from. maybe I could get one to go on my riceboy car.

I don't think this carbon fiber wing is going to cost near as much as the ones you are talking about. Those are around the $1,000 range.

True that... Although I'm just trying to understand the advantages, besides a slight weight reduction.

But, hey, more products are better! :)

There's no advantages really. The weight difference isn't really that much. It's just to look cool :thumb:

Now we can have a nice alternative to those crazy wings :)

I am in for sure, especially if you can get this done for $200 This is EXACTLY what I want. Any idea on how long this might take though? I was just about to buy a stock hi-rise but if this doesn't take too long, I will wait. I will ask the local 2G DSM owners here if their interested too.

Please do what it takes to make this work

Well, it's better than those "KOMBAT wings" that look like a Lady Schtick. ;)

I will be meeting with the cf molder tomorrow. I should be able to get some info from him and hopefully some info on the cf lips that are being made. I know that there are others that would like complete cf hatches and other major parts, maybe thats in the future! The cf molder is a vert reputable guy. He built Chris Rado's tube chassis cf body! Quality is not lacking here. And for you 90-91 1g owners that want a cf hood, PM me he has them as well!:thumb:
