ordered a carbon trix 13X10 hood vent
I was looking for pics from other DSMers that showed exactly where they placed their vents, how much material they cut out etc. Pictures would be great!

well I put the vent on last night
It's just being held in place by sheetmetal screws. My friend is supposed to lend me his rivet tool. I was really pleased with the size of the vent. It's exactly sized right to be centered on the hood without running into the stock hood hump. That's the good part. The bad part is that when they made the vent, the underside that is supposed to fit flat on the hood, wasn't flat. I had to pull out the dremel tool and make it flat. I made a template out of cardboard to figure out the placement and how much hood sheetmetal I had to cut out. I decided to cut out as much material as possible to promote as much air flow as possible without sacrificing the structural integrity of the hood itself. I think the vent is designed well. Dang it if the batteries to the digital camera aren't dead and I have no idea where the wife hid the charger. I don't think I would have bought that camera if I had known it doesn't charge with a USB cord. Pictures will follow after the old lady gets her cantankerous ass out of bed and shows me she put the battery charging cord for the camera.

Have you finished the vent up yet? I'm very interested in seeing how everything turns out. If it looks legit I plan on doing this mod sometime in the near future. Get those pics up!!

sorry guys my pics kept dissappearing
we'll try it again. I went back in and rounded off all the corners before I riveted it down. Works freakin great! This is a great mod for a turbo car like ours! The back side of the engine bay stays way cooler.

I also did some air flow mods
did a few other things at the same time, built a spoiler/ radiator shroud, deleted the foglights and wrapped the DNP SS tubular exhaust manifold. I have since sprayed the exhaust wrap with hi temp silicon spray.

Thanks snowborder!
I don't get it... I posted probably about thirty pics to this thread. None of them stick. It's kinda bummer. I uploaded pics from photobucket and then uploaded pics directly from my computer. The pics finally stuck to my other post that you posted the link for but not to this one. Bummer

You really need to try a different method for putting up pics. Whatever you're doing, don't do it anymore. "i've put up 15 pics etc", seen in your threads is getting moderately humorous when theres no pictures to be found. I'm sure you find it more frustrating than anything though.
Do what Ricky said, cut my front bumper with sawzall, it's a no fail solution.

I've got the link to his photobucket account and told him I'd try and upload pics for him and see what happens. I should do it.

Is 13x10 the size of the vent everyone has been using? Has anyone used any of the other sizes of the same vent?
